What started as a humble venture in 1987 in a spare room of our house in a small town of Kolhapur, has grown into a cherished name in winter wear. Rooted in our Ajji’s passion for knitting, every piece we craft carries the warmth of her dreams and the dedication of our skilled community.
From a spare room in her house to a full-fledged workshop, Ajji's vision grew with each passing year. By 1996, she expanded her workshop with more knitting machines and invited local women to join her mission, training them in the art of creating beautifully handcrafted woollens. Together, they built more than a business—they built a community.
In 1998, Madhuri Woollens opened its first store in Kolhapur, becoming a trusted name for families seeking warmth, quality, and the care of handmade creations. Today, we’re proud to support over 30 skilled women artisans who carry forward Ajji’s legacy, crafting every piece with the same love and attention she poured into her first sweater.
