Shree Chhatrapati Shahu Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd. (SCSSSKL) is a prominent cooperative sugar factory located in Kagal, Taluka Kagal, within the Kolhapur district of Maharashtra. Established in 1977, it began with a crushing capacity of 1,250 tonnes of cane per day (TCD). By 2006, it transitioned into a multi-state cooperative society. As of 2024, the factory boasts a significant crushing capacity of 4,500 TCD, supported by a 21.5 MW co-generation unit and a distillery unit with a capacity of 45 KLPD (kilo-liters per day)

• Awards and Recognition: SCSSSKL has been honored with the 'Best Cooperative Sugar Factory' award by the National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories for its high recovery rates. In 2021, it received the prestigious 'Vasantdada Patil Best Sugar Factory Award' for the 2020-21 crushing season .

• ISO Certifications: The factory is the first sugar mill in India to achieve both ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety) certifications, underscoring its commitment to sustainable and safe operations

• Technological Innovations: SCSSSKL has developed a mobile application to provide farmers with real-time data on sugarcane weight, recovery rates, and payments, enhancing transparency and efficiency in operations .

• Farmer Support: Demonstrating strong support for its farmer members, the mill has committed to paying the Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) for sugarcane in a single installment, alleviating financial stress for farmers .

• Expansion Plans: The factory is in the process of expanding its distillery capacity from 45 KLPD to 60 KLPD, with an investment of ₹30 crore, aiming to increase annual production of rectified spirit from 1,350 KL to 1,800 KL
